Children of the Grave is the third in the series of covers by Imaginal Cells
Progressive Rock band Imaginal Cells release the third in a series of cover songs to pay homage to their greatest influences. In advance of their debut original concept album release, Imaginal Cells release a blazing prog-heavy rendition of Black Sabbath’s “Children of the Grave.” Their cover demonstrates Imaginal Cells’ unique style and musical prowess, while approaching the song with great reverence and respect to the original, paying close attention to detail. “Children of the Grave” is available for digital download and streaming on all platforms, with an animated apocalyptic video on Youtube.
The music of Imaginal Cells is rich in organic tones and textures, made in the spirit of their favorite classic albums. Utilizing a sonic palette layered with vintage sounds and lush vocal harmonies, Imaginal Cells cites such iconic bands as Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Rainbow, and Iron Maiden among their influences, acknowledging Black Sabbath, arguably the creators of Heavy Metal, as being perhaps their greatest of all. Putting their unique spin on the classic Black Sabbath song was a task Imaginal Cells set out to do with the utmost care and respect, while steering it into the progressive metal realm. Children of the Grave was chosen for its stance against the nuclear arms race, as Imaginal Cells’ music similarly speaks out against the existential issues of our day.
“While we are confident in our originality and the uniqueness of our sound, we are proud to say we were shaped by the groundbreaking music that initially opened the door,” said Imaginal Cells singer and frontman Ethan Foxx.
In honor of Black Sabbath, Imaginal Cells’ version of “Children of the Grave” introduces the band to the legions of Classic Rock and Heavy Metal aficionados who similarly love the music that made them.
