Imaginal Cells honor their greatest influences in a series of covers

Imaginal Cells Lets Their Inner Floyd Shine On


Progressive Rock band Imaginal Cells are set to release a series of cover songs to pay homage to their greatest influences in advance of their debut original concept album release, beginning with a rendition of Pink Floyd’s “Time” from the seminal masterpiece “The Dark Side Of The Moon.” Their cover demonstrates Imaginal Cells’ unique style and musical prowess, while approaching the song with great reverence and respect to the original, paying close attention to detail. “Time” will be released for digital download and streaming on all platforms January 22, 2024. 


The music of Imaginal Cells is rich in organic tones and textures, made in the spirit of their favorite classic albums. Utilizing a sonic palette layered with vintage sounds and lush vocal harmonies, Imaginal Cells cites such iconic bands as Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, and Iron Maiden among their influences, with Pink Floyd being perhaps their greatest of all. Putting their unique spin on the classic Floyd song was a task Imaginal Cells set out to do with the utmost care and respect. While keeping with their natural distinctive sound, their salute to Pink Floyd’s “Time” holds true to the tone of the original and features the sultry voice of Dierdre Evans of Phoenix, Arizona’s Dierdre to grace the indelible backing vocal parts.  


“While we are confident in our originality and the uniqueness of our sound, we are proud to say we were shaped by the groundbreaking music that initially opened the door,” said Imaginal Cells singer and frontman Ethan Foxx. 


In honor of Pink Floyd, Imaginal Cells’ version of “Time” introduces the band to the legions of Classic Rock and Progressive Rock aficionados who similarly love the music that made them.
