The Spirit of Things is Imaginal Cells' debut single about the spirit essence in all things.
Progressive Rock band Imaginal Cells will release their first single The Spirit Of Things ahead of their debut album Purified. The uniquely ethereal song is based on an idea common to Animism that acknowledges an omnipresent intelligence that flows through the natural world and imbues all things with subtle consciousness. Imaginal Cells’ tastefully artistic use of mood, tone, and space takes the listener on a sonic journey from the acapella intro, through its dramatic peak, to the hypnotic psychedelic outro. Listeners might find The Spirit Of Things reminiscent of the classic Space Prog genre or artists such as Pink Floyd. The Spirit Of Things will be released for digital download and streaming on all platforms on September 3, 2024.
Imaginal Cells singer and lyricist Ethan Foxx said of The Spirit Of Things, “It’s about this collective awakening happening everywhere, whatever you want to call it; everything from the psychedelic renaissance to the alternative media, the soil regeneration movement, or the current interest in fungal networks, consciousness, shamanic healing, everything.”
The music of Imaginal Cells is rich in organic tones and textures, made in the spirit of their favorite classic albums. Utilizing a sonic palette layered with vintage sounds and lush vocal harmonies, Imaginal Cells cites such iconic bands as Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, and Iron Maiden and Pink Floyd among their influences.
The Spirit Of Things is the first of two single releases before Imaginal Cells’ self-produced concept album Purified is released in November.
